The Mary Hardesty Realty Annual Balboa Island Calendar

Mary & Erika launched the yearly Balboa Island Calendar in 2003 to celebrate the holiday season & the beginning of a new year on Balboa Island. It is hand delivered as a gift to each Island resident during the holiday season. John Carlyle, local fine artist, is commissioned each year to paint an impressionist watercolor showcasing well-loved Balboa Island scenes. It is our pleasure to share this seasonal tradition with the community.

John paints to capture the positive & alluring coastal vibe  that the Southern California beach area provides. 

The Ocean, Sand, and a 1963 VW Bus are his personal Muses.
